We are having such lovely weather in Brisbane at the moment that it hardly feels like winter. Although, in saying that, I am drinking more peppermint tea than usual, hence the adorable tea set! I am feeling a little girlie so this wishlist represents my desire for bows and sweet as candy clothing!

What items are you longing for this month to make your winter a little warmer?

I’m not a very ‘girlie’ girl, I do enjoy wearing dresses, but my first love is a great jeans, boots and blazer combo! I found this amazing Guess boyfriend blazer with teal lining and fell in love! It is so soft and comfortable and I loved the pop of colour. I couldn’t find it online but I found another one I would love to add to my collection the – G-Star Raw boyfriend blazer with leatherette cuffs and the same relaxed fit.

I am wearing my favourite pair of jeans which are the Wrangler mid twiggy – between high and low rise they are comfortable enough to wear all day.

I found these boots after a long search for ankle boots and they were comfortable as soon as I put them on (as you can tell I appreciate comfort in my clothing)! They are Nine West toughen up and what drew me to them was the subtle worn finish which didn’t scream shiny new boots but had a pre-loved feel.

The Russian open weave collared shirt from Portmans (which is unfortunately sold out online) caught my eye because of the amazing details around the shoulders. Initially I wasn’t sure about the ‘cowboy’ feel but sometimes you just have to try new things!

A few weeks ago I attended The Way We Wear Vintage Fair and bought this lovely white Japanese vintage dress from Vintage Junkyard who also sell their delightful goods online.

This vintage dress has a delicate lace collar, is the perfect length for me and even has a petticoat layer. I paired it with my red Saltwater Sandals (recently purchased from The Happy Cabin), a vintage belt borrowed from my sister and my red Essence bag (which is made with fair trade cotton, each piece is handmade and uses natural materials, sold at Myer).

I am not an aspiring model (I prefer taking the photographs to being in them) but I just had to show off my vintage outfit I bought in Sydney!

When I went to Sydney for Tropfest I visited my friend Julie who works in a vintage store called Velvet Rose in Newtown. I bought this blouse (which required the collar to be sewn down because it was looking a little William Shakespeare), the skirt and this Jag bag for a mere $50 which I thought was a bargain! Unfortunately I ran out of time to explore more of Newtown’s awesome vintage stores but I shall return.

Due to all the rain last weekend I was confined to my house which gave me a chance to finally shoot this gorgeous dress I purchased from We Live Like This at Paddington. The dress is by Australian label Shakah which is perfect for our hot, sticky summer days as the fabric is soft and airy.

I was instantly drawn to the bold colour of this dress and the Egyptian style design on the back. In the designer’s own words they are constantly “drawing inspiration from their travels to culturally rich and exotic countries, the Designers create pieces which not only pay homage to diversity, but are also a celebration of the power and beauty of women.” I think this sums up this piece perfectly as it does make me feel like an powerful Egyptian goddess!
